A small press in Yaba
Two platen presses, a wall of paper, and a rule that nothing leaves the room until it feels right in the hand.
We started with one press and a wedding
In 2016 we printed a friend's invitations on a borrowed Chandler & Price because the quotes she was getting all came back glossy and thin.
That first run taught us the thing we still build the studio around: the paper does most of the work. Thick cotton stock takes a deboss and holds it. It softens where fingers land. It smells faintly of nothing, which is somehow the right smell.
Nine years later we press four to six suites a week — no more, because the press only moves as fast as someone can feed it. Between weddings we pull art print editions for galleries and collectors around Lagos.
We are based on Herbert Macaulay Way in Yaba. You are welcome to come and put your hands on the paper before you commit to anything.
Slow on purpose
Each stage has a person's name attached to it. Nothing is batched out to a trade printer.
Tell us the date
You send the date, the guest count and anything you have already fallen for — a colour, a fabric, a photograph.
Paper and proof
We pull paper samples, mix ink to match, and send two layout drafts for you to mark up.
On the press
Each sheet goes through the platen press one at a time. Edges are torn, seals poured, overlays folded.
Sealed and sent
We address, assemble and pack the suites in paper sleeves, then ship anywhere in the world.
